The community has a rich history in agriculture, sawmills, and phosphate mining and includes beautiful parks and nature trails.  Alderman Ford Park has a picnic and play areas as well as walking trails.  Lithia Springs Park has camping, picnic and play areas as well as “the Springs” open for swimming.
